The best storage ideas for a new kitchen
Planning for your new kitchen can be stressful. There are so many things to consider, but hopefully, if you are reading this, you are past the colour schemes and on to looking for the best storage ideas for a new kitchen. We are going to run you through some of the best and nifty ways to make the most of your new kitchen storage opportunities.
Let’s start with drawers!
Kitchens have a lot of drawers as we know. Drawers in themselves are a great storage solution but are you thinking of the best ways to have your drawers? To start, we can think about the very simple and very useful drawer dividers and organisers. Drawer organisers are perfect when you want to avoid that dreaded drawer in the kitchen that just has everything in it where most items go to die. You know the one we are talking about, the drawer you open, then close your eyes and quickly shut again. To be fair many people have large or unweirdly kitchen tools that sit in this drawer, making it even more difficult – such as egg poachers, spaghetti spoons, garlic presses etc. So always think about having a good sort out and only keep the utensils that you use on a regular basis!
Organisers are perfect for making kitchen chaos slightly more organised. The more useful storage you have below, in drawers and cupboards, the more space you have up top on your counter tops.
And don’t forget the wonderful “drawers within drawers” – ideal for hiding away a cutlery drawer or spice rack within a larger cupboard front.

Pan Storage
Pan storage is a big thnig when designing your new kitchen. They can be big unwieldy objects that don’t always stack properly and the lids can be a problem when it comes to storing them effectively. So to start with, have a sort out and get rid of what you don’t use. Do you ever use that large crock pot that was given to you? Or the pressure cooker that great Aunt Mabel lent to you many years ago. These are all really large pans that will need a home and will take up a huge amount of storage within your new kitchen. We have a great selection of drawers that would be perfect for pans, but also a large corner cupboard with pull out Le Mans shelves would be great as well. Talk to us to find out what would be best for you.
We will chat with you about all the options you can have within your sets of drawers. Our knowledge is extensive!
Pull Out Pantry
Most of us dream about being able to have the space for a pantry and sometimes that’s a definite option. For many, the space just isn’t quite there. That doesn’t mean you can’t have the kitchen of your dreams and Cannadines will always find a way. So, if your space is not equipped for a proper walk in pantry, why not consider a pull-out pantry? In simpler terms, it’s like a big draw that holds all the things your pantry would. A Pull-Out Pantry can either be below the worktop or fitted vertically and sit alongside things like the fridge. They are discreet and great for all the bulky items in your kitchen like large jars of pasta, tins, rice and grains. Having a floor to seiling pull out pantry is a must for many of our clients!

Island Storage!
If you want an island in your new kitchen, then consider adding a little more than just a beautiful feature. Islands are a really great way to add a lot of discreet storage space. Not only do you have extra worktop space but the inside of the island is a huge space you can use for storage. If you’re lucky enough to be able to have the space to work with, it’s a great option for style and added storage space. You can choose cupboards, shelves, baskets and plenty more. And of course, a kitchen island looks fantastic as well!

Free up fridge space with a wine chiller
No matter the fridge size you opt for, we know that wine bottles can take up a lot of space. We get asked about this a lot! Adding a wine chiller will not only add a dedicated space for storing your wines but it will also add a beautiful feature. It can give your kitchen an elevated look whilst adding that extra storage space.
Don’t forget utensils!
Kitchens are filled with utensils. We seem to forget how many utensils we all actually have. Spoons, ladles, whisks, tongs and so on. Rather than clutter a drawer or your worktop, why not think about introducing a utensil rack to hang them from? Adding a utensil rack also gives a modern feel to your new kitchen and can be an interesting feature in itself! You just need to make sure they are kept clean and grease free if they are sitting above your hob!
